fabric

I am teaching myself how to sew. It is slow going but each day I learn a little more. I have a pattern for my first project but the people who write those instructions make a LOT of assumptions about what you already know! [I learned yesterday from youTube (!) how to pin the pattern to the fabric before cutting it out.] At the very least, I love the fabric I am using, even if the little dress I am making ends up a disaster.

The first dress that my sister made ended up being some pirate version of the Eiffel Tower. It was that off-kilter. Success is in the process, not the product (I think), when it comes to one's first attempts at sewing. (I myself do not sew, so I have no premise for posting this.)

I am SO proud of you for teaching yourself how to sew, WOW!!! I never would have thought of looking on u-tube for instructions. I love the fabric, is it going to be an A-line dress?

I guess you'd call it an a-line dress...but it has one inverted pleat in the front. It's supposed to be easy so we'll see.
