curtains

The curtains in Meg's new room are finally up, and Meg is sleeping in the room! It took about a month more than I thought and there is still much to be done (like to actually iron the curtains), but it is functional. It was much easier than I thought it would be to put Meg in the new bed - she just treats it like a crib and waits for us to get her out! I'm not going to tell her otherwise. (And thanks to my mom for sewing them!!)

baby book

Meg is 20 months old, and I have just finished her baby book. Even more pathetic, I probably would have procrastinated even more unless I had another one coming soon. The good thing is, I think I've got a good method for making Katie's. A friend gave me a sticker calendar for Meg's first year, where I wrote down all her milestones and stats. That turned out to be invaluable so I bought one for Katie. Then, in picasa, I just made a separate album of "Meg's 1st Year" pictures and then downloaded it into a blurb book. I added little notes and stories from the sticker calendar as captions and then it was finished. (Thanks, Carrie Stroud, for the photo.)

irresistable salad

My SIL Christie has done it again. She gave me an amazing recipe that will probably end up being a staple in our house. Have you ever over-stuffed yourself on salad? I admit I love salad but I have never thought I had eaten too much until I had this for the first time. Click here for the recipe. I recommend not taking any shortcuts: use fresh cilantro, bake the tortillas, use fresh limes and kosher salt. The first time I had it at Katheryne's (aka my other amazing SIL) house she used grilled chicken with taco seasoning instead of chickpeas. She also set the cilantro and green onions in separate little bowls so they remained optional.

sandbox

This weekend we ("we" = Mark) set up a sandbox for Meg. She loves it! So far she will only sit in this one little corner- I'm not quite sure why. Thank you, G'ma Tuzie and Pop Pop!! I am hoping this will provide a distraction for Meg when her mother is too tired to take her to the park...

easter, part 5

Okay, these are the last pictures of Easter I will share. The easter egg hunt - some were just scattered around the lawn so for Meg and Anna it wasn't so much a "hunt" as it was a "gather".

easter, part 4

I can't promise that these are the last of the Easter pictures. I have cropped myself out of most of these for a reason, but my baby belly is sneaking in this one.
G'ma Tuzie and Meg in their pretty dresses.
Nice looking bellies!
Sweet sisters in the dresses and headbands their mom made them...Sophia, Elise, Grace, and Anna.

blanket & bear

My sweet friend Mireille made the most amazing gifts for the girls - I am so excited to have them! She crocheted the baby blanket out of organic cotton for Katie and it matches her room perfectly. For Meg she made the sweetest little teddy bear (I've never known anyone to make a teddy bear...I am so impressed!). Meg loves the heck out of it. I love that these are handmade. Thank you, Mireille!

cousins

I can't believe an entire week has flown by since Easter weekend. Here are some of my favorite pictures of some of Meg's cousins. It is easy to practice with my camera with these little cuties and beautiful weather!

special visitors

My parents are in town this week and Meg has been loving every minute of it (me too!). It was gorgeous today and I can't resist a good opportunity to have a picnic so today for lunch we headed over to the park.

photo party

The sun finally came out after a long week of rain, and this is what Meg and I did yesterday. What a great idea! Meg is 2nd from the top (why don't my pictures come out like that?). Hopefully I can share some of the others when I get them.

eight months

There it is, folks...the 8-month belly. It's out there! I was fiddling around with my camera and I had never tried not using a flash, so I turned to our glass laundry room door to see what would happen. When I uploaded it to the computer, lo and behold, I got quite a reflection!
