nectarines

When I think of "late summer in Tallahassee," very few good things come to mind. My grandfather, who lives in equally hot Texas, spends every August in the Colorado mountains with his wife. I would do that in a heartbeat! But what I will actually miss once the weather gets cooler is the amazing fruit. I love all of it, but it's hard to think of anything better than a perfectly ripe nectarine.
