hydrangea

There is a hydrangea blooming outside the kitchen window that is making me extremely happy. The past few years it was a sad little brown plant that would hardly bloom, and when it did it the blooms were greenish-white. This winter Mark had the great idea to move a huge potted plant away that used to be right next to it, which allowed for more sun...and voila! The hydrangea has taken off and the blooms have turned blue!

grandma time

The past couple of weeks we have been extremely blessed to have our mothers come to help us with watching Meg and adjusting to life with Katie. They have made the transition so smooth and I am sad to see them go!!

in the movies

This is why I deserve the worst-daughter-in-law-of-the-year award:
My MIL Nancy came last Wednesday to help me with Meg and Katie. It also was the day that some FSU film students wanted to use our house as a backdrop in one of their movies. They had asked us beforehand for permission to do this, but we didn't realize how long it would take and how many people would be camped out in our front yard.

Nancy was kind enough to offer to run to Publix for me while I took a nap. She didn't have a house key so I left the door unlocked. As she left I said, "call me if you have any problems!"

The next thing I know there is a knock on the dooor and some film student is telling me my car windows are down and it is pouring down rain. So I run outside with the baby, roll up the windows, run inside, and lock the door.

Then I proceed to nurse the baby, get tired, decide to take a nap, and turn off my phone.

I woke up (who knows how much later) to hear some strange tapping noises and I open the front door to find about 15 people with their cameras pointed straight at the front door, filming some scene with my MIL Nancy locked outside with her Publix bags and hiding behind a column!! I had locked her out, in the rain, in front of film cameras, with no way to call me!!

Meg had fun watching all the action.

katie martin webb

She's finally here! Katie was born on Tuesday after a fast and easy delivery. 8 lbs., 15 oz., and 20.75 inches long...a nice big girl! We got to come home yesterday and it is so good to finally have her with us...we have been waiting for a long time.

mother's day

Happy Mother's Day! It feels strange to be a celebrat-ee instead of a celebrat-or (I might have made those words up). This is a photo, circa probably 1976 - my mom and my brother - she is probably not quite pregnant with me. I love it! I am so grateful for my mom and all my other "mothers" - mom-in-law, grandmothers, and lots of other great women in my life.

think pink

Some of my sweet friends from church showered me on Sunday with a lot of love! The theme was so great - matching outfits for Meg and Katie. This pink feather wreath was on the front door, which had me smiling even before I walked in.
The favors were so adorable - they are frosted cookies in the shape of big and little matching dresses, of course!

I am definitely thinking pink...

Thanks, girls - it was so much fun!
